For this specialty class, we were responsible for patterning and making an ensemble of understructures. I chose to create an 1830s Ensemble. It is made up of a corded petticoat, a corded corset, and a chemise. The corset is adapted from the Buff Corded Corset in Stays and Corsets Volume 2 by Mandy Barrington. The chemise contains grow tucks and is based on an 1830s chemise located in the Met Museum. The corded petticoat is based off an 1830s petticoat in the Colonial Williamsburg Collection.
